This 2 lb. approx. yellow perch {the state record is 2 lb. 2 oz} was taken by an otter, from the metal fish basket it was in, hanging over the side of the boat in the lake, while arrangements were being made to have the fish weight for possible state record. The elapsed time was about 15 minutes.
